“Saving Time on the Grading Process,” Reflections on a Technology-Enhanced Science Course,” and “Simple Active-Learning Activities Designed to Increase Student Learning and Satisfaction” are just three of the many workshops being offered this May at the
2008 Teaching Professor Conference. This year’s conference will be held at the Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention Center in Kissimmee, Florida from May 16-18, 2008.

MCC faculty members who have attended past Teaching Professor conferences have found them to be practical, useful, and friendly. Teachers from all disciplines facilitate the 60+ workshops.

Contact the CELT office for more information, or check out the Teaching Professor website.

"What the Best College Teachers Do" is a three-day institute based on Ken Bain's book of the same name, featuring findings from a "15-year inquiry into the practices and insights of highly effective teachers." I went to this institute several years ago and found it thought-provoking and useful. John Ramirez and Janet Baker also attended. This year's institute begins at 11 on Wednesday, June 18 and ends on Friday, June 20, 2008.
