AFTER SEVERAL MONTHS OF SENSITIVY OF HIS EARS AND DOUBLE
VISION AND SEVERAL PAIRS OF GLASSES, EXTREME NIGHTMARES AND
SLEEPINESS. WITHIN A 3 WEEK PERIOD MY HUSBAND BEGAN TO SHOW
SIGNS OF LATE STAGE ALZHEIMERS. AFTER CHECKING INTO THE
HOSPITAL ON 9/29/97 HE BEGAN TO GO DOWN HILL . A MRI SHOWED
TO BE NORMAL, AN EEG SHOWED BRAIN WAVES THAT COULD INDICATE
CJD. A SPINAL TAP WAS SENT TO THE NIH IN WASHINGTON CAME
BACK UNCONFIRMED. ANOTHER SPINAL TAP AND A BRAIN BIOPSY
CONFIRMED CJD. HE DIED ON 10/22/97. HE HAD SEVERAL
DOCTORS AND NONE OF THEM CAN TELL US HOW LONG HE MAY HAVE
HAD CJD OR HOW HE HAD CONTRACTED IT. THEY ARE AS CONFUSED
AS MUCH AS WE ARE. THIS IS A DISEASE THAT APPEARS WITHOUT
WARNING, AND DEATH HAPPENS SO FAST. WE ALSO THINK THERE
SHOULD BE MORE RESEARCH AND WE DO AGREE THAT IT STRIKES IN
SUCH A HORRIBLE WAY, WHICH TOOK A NORMAL 64 YEAR OLD MAN
AND REDUCED HIM
